Tools For Your Coaching Business

Recommended Tools For Your Coaching Business

People always ask me for recommendations on different tools, training, resources and services available to help them build their business. People particularly want to know what tools I use. As a result, I’ve put together a list of recommended resources that I’ve personally used and which I highly recommend.

I will add to the lists as I come across new resources that I recommend.

Equipment

The Uplift Desk -  An electric height adjustable desk. Keeps you comfortable during zoom coaching calls and meetings. Comes in a variety of colors and styles.

Sensyne Phone Tripod and Selfie Stick. It's sturdy and lightweight and comes with a great bluetooth control.

Microphone:

Audio Technica Microphone - ATR 2100 - good sound for podcast guesting at a reasonable price

Webcam:

Logitech Brio 4k Webcam

Business Cards

Moo - Moo has awesome business cards and great fast service. You can order regular sized business cards, square ones and half sized cards and you can customize them with your own photography or custom quotes.

Canva - With Canva you can create and print business cards and you can also create a great electronic business card complete with a QR code.

Scheduling Tools

Acuity Scheduling - An online calendar that you can use to make it easy to coordinate coaching sessions with your clients. It sends out reminders 24 hours before the call which reduces the possibility of last-minute no-shows.

Calendly is an online scheduler that is simple and intuitive to set up. I've been recommending this option to my clients since early 2023.

Coaching Forms

I wanted to make it easy for you to get started in your coaching business and so many coaches wanted to know what forms they need to welcome new clients so I created a package of the 8 must-have forms. You can purchase them here.

Meeting and Session Tools

Zoom - I use Zoom for one on one video coaching, teaching workshops, how-to videos and doing screen share demonstrations. I record everything at the click of a button. This is a very reliable and useful tool that I can't live without.

Vimeo - I like to store and share my videos on Vimeo.  You can upload videos and make them private to share with only the people you choose, or you can make them public.  It's easy to password protect files to keep your information confidential if you choose.

Email List

MailChimp - This is an email management program for small business owners.  Use MailChimp to collect email addresses of your clients and potential clients and then you can send newsletters and updates. You can even schedule your emails long in advance so if you're out of the office it will still send to your email list.

Graphic Design Tools

Canva - an easy to learn online graphic design tool to create visuals for your website and social media. I also use Canva to create e-books, pdf workbooks, checklists and infographics. There is a free and a paid version, but the free version is very robust.

Photo Sources

Canva gives you access to many wonderful photos while you're creating your designs.

Unsplash - Truly beautiful free images gifted by an international community of photographers

Hautestock - Great stock photos for Women Entrepreneurs.  The team at Haute Stock are always adding new styled stock photos, you can sign up for the newsletter and get free photos each month. In addition, they have some great resources on how to use their photos to improve your brand.  They also have a paid membership site with thousands of beautiful images if you want even more selection.

Websites and Domains

GoDaddy - GoDaddy is one of the big providers where you can reserve your domain (your address on the internet, e.g. https://stepintosuccessnow.com). They also provide website hosting.

Shopify - Shopify is a user-friendly interface you can easily use to create a professional gorgeous website in just a few hours. It's not your typical platform for a coaching website but I've found it very easy to use. (This website is created in Shopify.)

Productivity Tools

Trello - I use Trello to track my many to-do lists, projects and their workflow, goals, content library, random ideas and you can even share it with a team.

Moleskine Notebook - Because sometimes I like to use pen and paper to plan, track, brainstorm or journal. I love all things Moleskine and these notebooks in particular. The ivory pages are great to write on and the books are sturdy while still being flexible.  They've got rounded corners, elastic closure, bookmark ribbon and expandable back pocket that I fill with stuff.

Quiz Builder

TryInteract - Everyone loves a good quiz, right? I use quizzes to grow my email list. But you could also use a quiz to get to know your clients better or to run a fun promotion.   Here's one that I built recently. How to Find Your Perfect Niche
