What do cliff diving and online business have in common?
Do you ever watch cliff divers? Or do you watch the high divers in the Olympics?
The champion divers stand with only their toes touching the board and their back facing the pool.
and ready to go.
I love watching these divers. I am in awe of their power and grace and I can only imagine the countless hours spent training for that one moment.
And then I watch them takeoff.
They spin or somersault and finally form a perfect arrow to pierce the water.
It’s an amazing work of art.
Nothing at all like my REAL WORLD experience. 🤷🏼♀️
When I was a kid, I spent most afternoons at the local pool. We would swim and splash and play for hours.
In the background were the diving boards. We’d have fun lining up to jump off the 1 or 3-metre boards. We couldn’t wait to see who could make the biggest splash or the biggest belly flop.
And then beside the “little kid” boards stood the 10-metre diving platform.
We’d double-dog dare each other to jump off the high platform!
I was always a nervous kid, but even I was tempted.
For days we would stare up at those diving platforms and wonder what would happen if we had the nerve to jump.
And so it began…
I’d stand at the entrance to the high diving boards,, and with my knees knocking I’d climb the staircase.
I’d walk out onto the platform and look around.
Now I don’t know if you’ve ever done this but when you’re on that 10-metre platform it’s a long way down!
So here’s me, looking down at “certain death” My palms are sweating and I’m hyperventilating and ….I walked back down the stairs.
OMG, I chickened out!
The worst was that my friends (and the big kids) had seen me chicken out.
There’s nothing like a little bit of public humiliation for motivation.
Eventually, with my stomach in knots, I got the courage to jump off the 10-metre board.
Frankly, it was terrifying, but I lived and I felt powerful as a result.
Why am I telling you this story?
It’s because many online entrepreneurs are scared of visibility, frightened of being seen.
They are scared to do their first Facebook Live, press send on an email or post a blog post on their website.
It’s completely natural to be nervous when you’re doing something for the first few times. ♀️♀️♀️
Maybe you feel like I did when I was ready to jump off that diving board.
And that’s why I wrote this blog post >>>>
How to go from on edge to at ease with being visible online.
Check it out >>> HERE.
I too have been back up on that high diving board the last few weeks thinking of a change and now it’s time to share it with you.
I am shifting my business and I hope you will choose to continue to be part of my community.
I now help both online entrepreneurs and coaches overcome their fears and doubts, confusion, procrastination, overwhelm and shiny object syndrome and create a life and business they love while making great money!
